Advocacy

The Advocacy committee at Chatham Grove wants to create a community that fosters acceptance and belonging for all

children. We want to bring families together so they can share their experiences, resources, and raise

awareness for the varying needs of our students. While change does not happen overnight, we are

committed to making a tangible difference at CGE for years to come.

Ashton Blue

Ashton has a background in nonprofit law and currently volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem in Chatham County. She has two girls, Sutton (6) and Georgia (3).

Danielle McLean

Danielle moved from Dallas, Texas in July 2023, for her two exceptional children, 4th and 1st grade, to attend Chatham County schools.

Jennifer Franks

Jennifer Franks is the parent of two boys, her youngest having Down Syndrome. Having moved several times over the years and recognizing that her son thrived in typical peer environments, she has become skilled at working with various districts on how to include her son who requires a higher level of support in the gen ed classroom. Through educating herself in order to better advocate for her son, she enjoys sharing this knowledge and helping other families work collaboratively with their child's IEP team.

Ashlyn Ritter

Ashlyn is a PhD scientist, wife and mom of two boys, George (Kindergarten) and Jack (5th). After her own experience with a dyslexic child, she is currently using her scientific training to better understand and advocate for neurodiversity in learning.
